Are you a University of Tennessee student with cleats, a bat, a glove and a dream of playing SEC baseball? You might have a shot of making those dreams a reality in the coming weeks.
The Tennessee baseball team announced on Friday that third-year head coach Tony Vitello and his staff will be holding walk-on tryouts for current UT students at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The Vols are coming off of one of their best seasons in recent memory, reaching the NCAA Tournament and 40-wins for the first time since 2005. Tennessee also finished with 14 wins in conference play, including series wins over No. 2 Georgia and No. 15 Ole Miss.
If you’re looking to be a part of that and have the talent, you’ll have a chance to at least tryout for the opportunity to do so.
The tryouts are limited to current full-time students and a form must be filled out and submitted online by Sept. 11. The form can be found on the Tennessee athletics website at UTsports.com.
Those wishing to participate must also have had a sports physical done within the last six months.
Anyone interested in trying out can contact Tennessee Baseball Director of Operations, Chad Zurcher at firstname.lastname@example.org.
