Men's Basketball Practice

Tennessee's Uros Plavsic (34) passes the ball during Tennessee's basketball practice on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Pratt Pavilion.

The movement is over. Uroš has been freed.

Tennessee's redshirt-freshman big man Uroš Plavšić was ruled eligible to play immediately by the NCAA's Committee for Legislative Relief.

"We appreciate the committee's work as this process ran its course," UT Director of Athletics Phillip Fulmer said in a released statement. "We're thrilled that Uros will receive his opportunity to compete and that he no longer stands to lose a year of his eligibility. Our compliance staff put a great deal of work and persistence into achieving this outcome. This is the right decision."

Plavšić transferred from Arizona State to Tennessee in May after redshirting his freshman season in Tempe.

Plavšić's appeal for immediate eligibility was originally denied on December, 2nd before Tennessee filed a last chance appeal for the decision.

The Serbia native has been practicing with the team since his arrival in May and should provide immediate help to the Vols' thin front court.

Tennessee returns to action Wednesday when the Vols travel to Athens to take on Georgia.
