Tennessee football has announced April 18 as the date for the 2020 Orange and White game. Coach Jeremy Pruitt’s third annual spring game will likely feature the Vols split into two teams as they did last year.
Tennessee is coming off 8-5 for the 2019 season, which featured Pruitt’s first appearance and first win in a bowl. The Vols opened the season 1-4, including an embarrassing loss to Georgia State in their first game.
However, Tennessee was able to turn their season around as they won seven of their last eight games. The lone loss came on the road from the then No. 1 Alabama, during which the Vols were within four points of the lead with roughly ten minutes left in the first half.
This will be the first time in Neyland for new Tennessee coaches Jay Graham and the yet to be hired linebackers’ coach. Also making their Neyland debut will be a slew of early enrollees and transfers. Among the debuts, it will be the high-profile transfer Cade Mays’ first time playing in Neyland as a Vol after playing here this past year with the Georgia Bulldogs.
The White team won last year’s game 28-10. Rosters, kickoff time and broadcast information will be announced at a later time.
